Arrivée à Shkodra, un transfert privé sera organisé pour vous emmener de Shkodra à Theth. Vous serez confortablement installé dans une maison d’hôtes, assurant un début de séjour agréable et sans encombre.
La randonnée commence par l’une des plus emblématiques d’Albanie, partant du village de Theth (728 m) pour franchir le majestueux col de Valbona (1759 m) et rejoindre la charmante localité de Valbona (995 m), nichée au cœur de son parc national éponyme. Ce sentier pittoresque de 20 kilomètres suit l’itinéraire d’un ancien chemin de mulet, reliant les régions tribales de Shala et Nikaj. Préparez-vous à une aventure panoramique mêlant histoire et nature.
Il y a deux itinéraires possibles de Valbona à Cerem : le parcours ‘bas’ (par la vallée) et le spectaculaire parcours ‘haut’ via le col de Prosllopi (celui que nous empruntons). Ce sentier passe par Kollata et constitue la plus longue étape de la randonnée. Il a été ouvert car le parcours habituel Valbona – Cerem par le sentier ‘bas’ est principalement une piste pour tracteurs offrant peu d’intérêt. Le sentier de Kollata est très agréable et offre des vues sur l’escarpée montagne rocheuse de Kollata, utilisée pour l’escalade.
Aujourd’hui, vous marcherez entre deux villages de bergers, habités uniquement en été afin d’exploiter les pâturages abondants. Doberdol, un village relié au monde uniquement par de petits sentiers, est inaccessible en voiture. Il est situé sous le point triple frontière entre l’Albanie, le Kosovo et le Monténégro. En chemin, vous traverserez le village de Balqin, où vous pourrez vous arrêter pour un verre de lait servi par les bergers locaux.
Cette partie des montagnes est strictement protégée, car elle abrite également les lacs glaciaires du plateau de Sulbica. La vallée de Gashi a été inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine naturel mondial de l’UNESCO en 2017.
Aujourd’hui, vous traverserez de l’Albanie au Monténégro, en commençant par une randonnée plus courte de Doberdol à Babino Polje. Au début du parcours, gravissez le sommet du Triple-Frontière pour vous retrouver en 15 minutes en Albanie, au Kosovo et au Monténégro. Ensuite, marchez le long de la frontière Kosovo-Monténégro avant de descendre jusqu’à Bogicevica Katun, un hameau de bergers monténégrin. La randonnée se termine à Babino Polje, où l’hôte de la maison d’hôtes vous attend.
Après un transfert de Babino Polje à Vusanje, vous commencerez la randonnée de 23 kilomètres jusqu’au village historique albanais de Theth, célèbre pour son mode de vie traditionnel et ses maisons en pierre.
Le sentier serpente à travers le terrain accidenté des Montagnes Maudites (Prokletije / Alpes albanaises), autrefois zone interdite à l’époque communiste. Le long de falaises spectaculaires, vous croiserez un bunker militaire et d’anciens panneaux de passage frontalier en entrant en Albanie.
Après la randonnée, vous serez transféré à Shkodra.
