Recently, I joined the open group organized by the Kosovar tour operator “Balkan Natural Adventure” to hike the most beautiful sections of the “Peaks of the Balkans” trek. I chose BNA for this tour because they met my most important criteria:
Only 9 days of hiking – Until now, I had only hiked 4 days in a row. The original trek takes 12 days, but that felt too long for me given the available vacation days I wanted to take.
Route adaptation – The PoB was established more than 10 years ago. Parts of the route, especially in rural areas of Kosovo, have been developed since then and are no longer the natural trails they used to be. The local guides working with BNA therefore adapted the route to provide hikers with the nature experience they are looking for.

Where is the six-star option? Tripadvisor needs one for Balkan Natural Adventure! We just completed a four-day hiking trip along the “Peaks of the Balkans” with the help of a self-guided tour provided by BNA. The BNA team put together a perfect plan, allowing us to fulfill our dream of traversing these majestic mountains.
Timely communication before, during (!) and after our trip; expert logistical support; extensive knowledge of routes and options. And all this at an excellent value. Along the way, we met a few travelers who had previously taken guided tours with BNA or used their self-guided services, and they spoke very highly of BNA.
I don’t usually write many reviews, but BNA made my experience in the Balkans a once-in-a-lifetime event. I am grateful for their professionalism and hope to work with them again in the future!
